Push the machine forward slowly while depressing the spray trigger.

Give the chemical about 30 seconds to start working.

Pull the machine backward slowly over the sprayed section but do not depress the spray trigger.

Look at the strip you have just cleaned to see if there are any spots left that need working on. If there is move the machine up to them and try to agitate the carpet but again do not depress the spray trigger.

Push the carpet cleaner slowly to the top of your cleaned strip and pull all the way back. Repeat this 2/3 times but again do not depress the spray trigger.

If there are still spots left that are dirty push the cleaner to them and use a 2/3 second spray with the CleanShot . Leave that section and start a new area.

Then after following the first 3 steps again for another strip return to the spots where you used the CleanShot on and again do not press the spray trigger. Just disturb the carpet and suck up the water. If the stains are still there you may require a professional cleaner or replace that area of carpet.

You should not clean your carpets as fast as you vacuum. It also takes time to do it right and maybe a few hours or so to dry. However, if you get it right you should not have to do it again for 2/3 months.

If you want the best from your carpets follow these guidelines:

Vacuum once a week-daily in high traffic areas.

Blot spills as quickly as possible and treat as necessary.

Use your carpet cleaner at least every three months over the entire surface to remove dirt and dust. If you can afford it, use a professional cleaner every six months in high traffic areas and every year on your normal carpets. If you treat it right good quality carpets will last many years.
